Miranda Shumate, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over five years of clinical experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Ball State University and received her Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago, with a specialization in health and mental health.
She has experience working with adults of all ages in the nonprofit setting, as well as hospital and skilled nursing/assisted living. Miranda's primary interests include anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, grief, substance use, and life transitions. She has training in areas such as Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and LGBTQ+ affirming care. Additionally, Miranda is a certified yoga teacher (CYT-200), and is passionate about helping individuals implement yoga and mindfulness techniques as coping tools in their everyday lives.
Using a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative approach, Miranda understands that each person is the expert of their own life. She strives to hold space for individuals to explore their innermost thoughts and feelings, heal from difficult experiences, and promote resilience.
In her personal time, Miranda enjoys spending time with friends & family, attending concerts/live shows, traveling, and catching up on endless TV shows. She is also a pet parent to a sleepy dog and a rambunctious kitten.
